RIDER FAQ

Who picks me up from the airport?
Look for a person at the Tourism Regina Kiosk in the middle of baggage claim— they’ll be there to greet you. If no, please contact us.

What if I am driving in?

There is a parking lot directly behind the hotel, it cost $21 a night to park, please inform the front desk of your license plate, as they will need it.

Where are we staying?

The Hotel Saskatchewan, across the street from the setup.

How do I get my room?

Walk up to the front desk and check in, you will need to put a credit card down for damnages and extra charges to your room apart from the $25 breakfast credit (see below).

Where can I store my board bag at the hotel?
The Grind provides a dedicated gear storage room, accessible with your room key. You’ll be informed about it at check-in. Please use this room to avoid any damage charges to your personal credit card.

How do I get my accreditation for The Grind?
Pick up your “THE GRIND” armband at the hotel front desk. This armband is required to access The Grind. You’ll also receive a second accreditation for the Frost Festival, granting VIP access and entry to festival gates.

Why do I need accreditation?
Your armband grants entry to The Grind and access to the ramp. Wear it at all times as security may not let you through without it. Keep your Frost Festival accreditation handy—it gives you access to VIP areas with free drinks.

How does breakfast work?
You have a $25 daily breakfast budget covered by The Grind. Anything beyond that is charged to your room. Remember to sign for breakfast each day to your room number..

How do I get from the hotel to the competition?
Victoria Park is just across the road. The main festival entrance is on the right side of the park (opposite O’Hanlon’s Bar). Walk directly across the park to reach The Grind site.

What is the Friday event schedule?

  • 5:00 – 7:00 pm: Training

  • 7:00 – 9:00 pm: Seeding session

How is the seeding session judged?
It’s a 2-hour jam where judges score based on style, creativity, and feature usage. Judges will speak with you at the training session before the seeding begins.

What is the seeding session for?
The seeding session ranks participants for the head-to-head knock-out event. This helps structure the competition draw, ensuring higher-seeded riders don’t meet until later rounds.

Why is seeding important?
The higher your seed, the easier your first-round draw. Seeding affects matchups in later rounds, so top-ranked riders won’t face each other until the final.

  • 6:00 – 8:00 pm: The Grind

    • Duels: Head-to-head knock-out
