This privacy policy (the “Website Privacy Policy”) describes how The Grind Series collects, protects, uses and discloses personal information that is collected by The Grind Series through The Grind Series website and third-party website providers.

Definitions

4. The following terms have these meanings in this policy: a. ‘Personal Information’ – means information about an identifiable individual, other than his or her job title and business contact information. For the purposes of the Website Privacy Policy ‘Personal Information’ means personal information that is collected by The Grind Series through the Website in order to operate the Website. ‘Personal Information’ may include, but is not limited to, your name and email address.

Purpose

2. The purpose of this policy is to describe how The Grind Series collects, protects, uses and discloses personal information that is collected by The Grind Series. The Grind Series uses their website (the “Website”) to provide information about the sport of snowboarding including provide advice to snowboarders, coaches, volunteers, judges and officials and parents/guardians of snowboarders about opportunities in the sport and linking them to a third party websites (the “Links”) including the membership platform which is used to register members of The Grind Series. To take advantage of some of the features of the Website a user will have to provide his or her personal information. The Grind Series also needs to collect, use and disclose a user’s personal information in order to register him or her with the The Grind Series (as an athlete, a volunteer, a member, a coach, an official or a judge). The Grind Series also requires personal information from an individual that purchases merchandise through the Website. From time to time, The Grind Series may also run promotions and, in doing so, may require certain additional information from those who wish to participate.

Scope and Application

3. The Website Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information collected by The Grind Series through the Website. The Website contains links to third party websites (the “Links”) that are not controlled or operated by The Grind Series. The Links are maintained by the third parties who have their own website privacy policies and their own terms and conditions of use. This Website Privacy Policy does not apply to any of the Links and The Grind Series is not responsible for any Personal Information disclosed by virtue of those Links or for the privacy practices of any operators or sponsors of the Links. To determine how Personal Information will be treated when accessing or using the Links, you must read the Website Privacy Policy, if any, that applies to each of the Links.

5. The Grind Series uses a third-party service provider to process The Grind Series registration requests made through the Website. If you register with The Grind Series through the Website, the Personal Information you provide in order to register will be used by both The Grind Series and the third-party service provider in order to process the registration and to make you a The Grind Series member.

6. This Website Privacy Policy only applies to the Personal Information that The Grind Series collects and uses through the operation of the Website. The Personal Information disclosed to the third-party service providers referred to above is dealt with in accordance with the privacy policies adopted by each of those service providers. Individuals are encouraged to review the website privacy policies maintained by each of those service providers to understand how their Personal Information will be used by those entities to process requests.

Responsibility and Accountability

7. This policy applies to anyone accessing or using the Website. In doing so, you agree to accept the Website Privacy Policy. If you do not accept the Website Privacy Policy you must not access or use the Website. The Grind Series may, at any time without notice or liability, revise the Website Privacy Policy. You should periodically revisit this posting to review any revisions to the Website Privacy Policy. If any revision is not acceptable to you, you must cease accessing and using the Website. If you continue to access or use the Website after any revisions to the Website Privacy Policy are posted you will be deemed to have accepted those revisions.

8. The Grind Series collects Personal Information through the Website and third-party Links for the following purposes:

• to register a user with The Grind Series;

• to respond to inquiries about The Grind Series and the Website made through the Website;

• to troubleshoot problems with the Website and to improve the Website;

• to conduct marketing, including promotional activities;

• to conduct surveys;

• to process requests to purchase merchandise through the Website;

• to take any other action required or permitted by law

9. The Grind Series may also collect non-personal information each time users’ access or use the Website. The non-personal information The Grind Series may collect includes the user’s URL, IP address, browser and operating system information, and the location (country and province/ territory) where the user’s server is located.

• purchase merchandise through the Website;

• provide feedback to the The Grind Series through the Website;

12. The Grind Series will use the Personal Information it receives through the Website for the various purposes outlined above. By providing Personal Information through the Website, users acknowledge and agree that The Grind Series may use their Personal Information for the purposes set out above. The Grind Series may disclose Personal Information it receives through the Website to third party service providers and other agents if reasonably necessary to further the purpose for which the Personal Information was collected.

The Grind Series reserves the right to disclose Personal Information if required to do so by law or legal process or otherwise requested by any law enforcement officer or agency acting under colour of law. In addition, The Grind Series reserves the right to disclose Personal Information in order to (a) protect and defend the rights or property of The Grind Series; or (b) act in urgent circumstances to protect the safety or security of the public or users of the products or the Website.

The Grind Series may keep Personal Information it obtains through the Website for so long as is necessary or appropriate to carry out the purpose(s) for which such information was collected or for such longer period as may be required or permitted by applicable laws and regulations. If a member no longer wishes to be affiliated with The Grind Series and would like their Personal Information removed from files they must contact The Grind Series directly at info@thegrindseries.com.
